Our MD is also the Chair of Chester Business Club and he was proud to support this year’s Chester Business Club Charity Walk, which brought together around 220 walkers to raise funds and awareness for 22 local charities.
Held in support of Chester’s local charitable and business communities, the walk was a fantastic celebration of community spirit, bringing together walkers, charities, sponsors and volunteers for a day of fundraising and connection.
The event was particularly significant this year as it is Chester Business Clubs 40th anniversary year.
This year’s event proudly supported three headline charities :-
• Countess of Chester Hospital
• Petty Pool Trust
• RASASC Cheshire & Merseyside – Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre
Walkers were also able to choose a Charity of their own to raise funds for.
Each organisation provides vital support within the local community, making the fundraising and awareness generated through the event particularly meaningful.
A special thank you goes to the Charity Walk Committee members Anthony King, Lucy Liang and Feray Tunc, who met weekly organising the Walk. Their commitment, care and energy helped make the preparation both seamless and enjoyable.
Thank you also to Gavin Floyd, our MD (Chair of Chester Business Club) and everyone who contributed their time and expertise, both behind the scenes and on the day. Gavin was the Head Marshall for the Walk on the day.
We were also delighted to welcome High Sheriff of Cheshire, Lynn Pegler DL, whose support of the event and the charities involved, was greatly appreciated.
A true community effort
The Chester Business Club Charity Walk was a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when Chester’s business and charitable communities come together.
From the months of planning to the hundreds of people who turned out on the day, the event was a true team effort – and one that our MD was delighted to be part of.
We’re proud to have played our part in supporting such an important event for Chester and the surrounding community, and to have helped shine a light on the incredible work of the charities involved.
